.....1984 seals our fate....the coveted  seat  in  the Premier Patna Medical College.....a but natural consequence of a walk on a well laid out path long established  frm  an  equally  high altar of a college of Science : The Science College Patna.....a meeting  point  of  sharp young Scientific minds......straight frm  the School these brains wud definitely  antigenise u to higher goals willing  or  unwilling......The Patna Science College  of  early  eighties  was awe inspiring with  the best  oozing  al  around.....The BCE(Bihar College of Engg.) to its Left & The Patna College and Medical College  to  the right , it  was  one  seat  of  an  opportunity  of  an  excellence  to be  generated  in  its  ambient  atmosphere  nd  delivered  with a  telling  blow  on  ur  competitors  nd peers .....such  was  the  striving  for  excellence  in  competition  ....the  hall mark  of  a  nursery for  future sparring  acts......hence, sooner  or  later  I  had  to  percolate  frm Patna Science  College   to Patna Medical College  & my parents  were happy....& I was  lucky as I was  destined  to hv  a  brush  with  the"The Last of  the Doyens" of  this haloed institution....!!
.......in  as much  as  we used  to  hungrily stare  at  the  College Gates in  our  late  nite  tours  of  Ashok  Rajpath  as intermediate  students  of  Science College, to  partake delicious Bread & Omlette being  prepared  outside  the Medical college gate 24x7.....   in  awe, to see  the  white  coat  clad  interns, students, as we lapped  up  both  the  snack  &  the  sight  of  our  future....the  first  day step  into  the  College  on Admission  Day  settled  the  score......"firmly  in"  was  the  thought, " Koi Nahi Hila  Sakta"(Can't be  dislodged  was  the  refrain )....as.....to  be  in  the  first  50 in  the  whole  State was  the steep  askance.......Gud Lord  was Kind  as  the "Last  of  The Doyen's  " were  very  much  thr  in tht cutting  edge of  an atmosphere ,as teachers & Gurus  par  excellence  , all  in  their  final  leg of  their  tremendous  Repute  as  Teachers  & Service providers to  the teeming  populace of Bihar.....!!!!...carrying  on  even  a  greater  legacy  of  their  own  predecessors, to which  they were initially exposed.....!!!!....as  the  days  rolled  on , I was  swept, by  a volley  of Fireworks  provided  by  our  Teachers & equally  tenacious  Peers, who  left  no  stones  unturned  to  make  you  humble, with  their  constant stellar  performances.....Prof Swain & PC Prasad of Anatomy were  hard  task  masters,Prof MN Verma of Physiology & Prof KP Sinha & Prof Indu Sinha of Biochemistry made us learn  the  basics  with  ease , generating lots  of  enthusiasm....the  2nd Professional  of  the Pathology ,duo , of  Prof BB Verma & Prof TCP verma was unparallel & always  lit  the LTs(Lecture Theatres) on Fire with packed  houses, with Hematologist Prof SB Pandey clinically  finishing  a  dull  subject  always  with  his charming churning  of  numbers & Datas ....at  ease....Capt Atma Prakash of Pharma....Guruji of SPM & a Prof RN Singh of FMT(Forensic Medicine & Toxicology) who,  knew  their  subjects too well  nd their students too....!!!!...they  were real  popular  &  much  talked  abt....!!!!....but  the  best  was  yet  to be  delivered.....at the  stroke  of  the  2nd bell....as CKN(Prof CK Narayan) wud  inhale the last puff of his Cigarette, before  extinguishing  the  stub  &  entering  the LT  in  clock  like  precision, delivering an  oratory  of  Clinical Internal Medicine so  lucid  & acceptable....wht a teacher....one of  the  "last  of  the  Doyens"...nd  not too  left  behind  with equally  dazzling performances in Internal Medicine  was of Prof GP Sinha, Prof GS
