.....the City  is back  to  near  normal....thank  the  Gud  Lord ....!!!!.....with  school attendance swelling ....vaccines   now easy  to  get....learning experience  for  the  modern  gentry  , until  recently ,hitherto  unexposed....;......with the  Hospital 25th Anniversary a runaway  success .....thr  r  reasons to  be satisfied this Friday  Holiday...with  a  sharp downpour  &  strong  winds   today  it  was  as  if business  as   normal....with  Siesta  time reading  a  brisk  affair now  with  Little Nanu  as  Papa's  reading mate  with  a  primary  Children  Encyclopedia....finally, the action  around the Sasquehanna   river  in PA ,a  decisive  battle  near  Albany as  Gen  Horatio Gates brings an  epic surrender  of British  troops  by  the  Continental  Army ....with  Gen  George Washington  retreating  frm  Philadelphia frm the  assault  of Gen  Howe of the British  Red  Coats ....the  surrender  effected  by Gates comes  as  a boon .....for  the Continental  Army ....finally the Mist &a haze over New England lifts off.....as Langguth  captures it so  vividly  in  the "Patriots"....the  narrative of  the American  War  of Independence as  free  flowing as  her  rivers  ....!!!....Lord Cornwallis  in  action too , who later on  succeeded  Hastings   in the Indies....the  Irony more  starkly  laid  before  me  as America  gain independence  frm  Britain   &  We  lose  ours at  the same  time with the East India  Company  tightening its  grip over India.....The Patriots  , The Militia , The Continental army .....no  rank outsider  like  me  can  Opine  abt the Gun Culture , now I  realize ,  as it  is a venerated  American  thought
intimately linked to  their Legacy  of "Liberty".....!!!!

SILVER  JUBILEE Function AMDC March  31^st   2017

Respected Chairman  Sir, Hon’ble Directors,  Sr  consultant Dr  Azeez , Chief  Executive , Esteemed Colleagues &  Doctors ,Members  of  the staff, Dignitaries  &  dear  friends ……It  gives  me  immense pleasure  to  address you all , on  the  auspicious Occasion of  Silver  Jubilee Anniversary  of  AMDC, one  of  the  early  leaders in  the  Pvt  sector as pioneer  to  the Health   Care  Industry of  Maldives.

From a  modest  &  Humble  begining  AMDC is now a premier  Health  care  provider in the Isles . My decade  long association  is  testimony  to  the  fact that steadily  we  have  been  winning  the  Trust  of  people  as  Service  providers .

I am glad  to  inform you all that  this yr  also  is  my  Silver  Jubilee Yr of Clinical Practice &  this  Coincidence  gives   me   immense   pleasure . My  decade  long  association  with  AMDC  &  Maldives  is  very  close   to   heart . My wife  & kids  hv  been  thoroughly  supportive &  needless to  say  the  Maldives  Sun &  Sea hv  touched  us  abundantly.  Having  left a  plush  life in  the  National  capital  region  Delhi  more  than  a  decade  ago &  voluntarily  castaway in  a  Robinson  crusoe  Island  in Laam  atoll , with  a  huge  moon  in sight  thru  the  windows of an Island aviation  Plane , & a sleepy  Island  underneath which  wud  be   our   home for  a couple  of  yrs , never  did  I  think  I  will be  blessed with  the   pristine  blu  waters   ,  the  Coconut  groves   &  white  sandy   beach…..for  a  long   long  time   to   come  …..far  far  away  frm  the  Indian  mainland , away  from  Friends  &  extended Fmly , with  wife  & daughter  in   tow  we  imbibed   the  Island  Life as an  original  first  hand  experience …..Mr  chairman  sir  Dhivehi  Miroos  is  one  of the  most  imflammable  commodity  on  planet  Earth nd  we  failed  miserably  coping  with  it  in  tht  an  Old  lady  of  a locality    called  Kurigam wud invariably  provide  the  Long  Indian variety a v v rare  commodity  in  the Island  …..at    the  end  of  the  Morn  OPd  she  wud provide  me  daily  fresh  10   to  12  pcs of  the rarity  at steep price of   25  laari  apiece  tht  was  11  yrs  ago …..my  wife  utilized  the  rare  commodity   judiciously  &  I  never  threw  a half eaten  chilly  come  wht  may …..I  either  had  to  eat  it   or  save  it  for   the  evening …..tht  practice  went  so  deep  in  our  hearts  tht  till  date   though  in  abundance  here  I  wud  save  a  half  eaten  chilly  …..in  adversity  we  learnt  how  to  brace  up  ,  keep  ur  chin  up   nd  act  judiciously …. Taking  care  of   the   Island  populace  , Old ,  &  young  alike  &  in  close  touch  with  the   other  Islands   linked  by Causeways …… a General  practice  Portfolio far  far  challenging  &  satisfying …. A  B 323  Mazzda  Car  worth  only  20 000 Ruffiya , whose  one side  power  window  wont go  down  permanently  kept  us  happy  exploring  the adjoining  Islands ….reminding  us   of  value  of  things  & not  taking  anything for  granted ……and   making    us   better   human  beings ……..as    Senior  sister Alice , talked  day  in  &  day  out abt  her old  organization  called  AMDC  in  glowing  terms  ,  it  was   not  far   tht  fate  wud   draw   me   to  AMDC …….I  am glad  I landed  here  armed  with  my  Cherished  island  experience ,  for  rendering  humble  service  to my  pts .

Trust  is  the   keystone  for  all  human  endeavor , more  so  Medical  practice …..as   you  touch  Ur   pt  a  huge  Trust is   reposed   on  you ….its  a  tough   call  to   live   up  to  expectations ……but   Practice  Makes   a man perfect …..I  thank  my  Organisation   to  hv  provided   me an opportunity  to   serve   the   people …..let  the  age   old  practice   of  Professionalism  , Care  &  Integrity   towards the  profession   dominate ….let  us raise   the   bar  of  providing   all the   Services   Humanely  &  with  Utmost  Patience  &  ever  smilingly ……

.....Silver Jubilee : The Health care Provider ....AMDC

....The  much  delayed   " Silver  Jubilee" func. of  the  Health Centre  will kickstart  on  31st  instant.  The  Premier  Pvt  Sector  operator  in Health  services of  the   Isles , providing  a yeoman  services   to  both  Locals  &  Expats with  Elan ...... to  run  facilities  for  a  quarter  of  a  century is no  mean  effort ....glad I  am part  for  over  a  decade  now .....a decade  gone ....Whoosh  Passing at  the   blink  of  an eyelid  .......Day  in &  day   out   footfalls   of  the Sick  & their Attendants   ......day  in  & day  out services   rendered .......Wud  like  to Congratulate  All  responsible  in  making   the  Health  Centre  a shining pearl of   the  Isles ......Long  Live  ....!!!!  

.....Anxious Week ....gone by....

....School  reopens tomorrow ....the  anxious  week  passes off....the H1N1 scourge is somewht a temporary Lull....mass immunisation  just  kicks off  barely ....thr  is definitely  a pebble  dropped  ......the  placid laid  back  archipelago disturbed....though  must say under  control , the  menace abating ..... 

....trouble in Paradise ....

.....as H1 N1 virus gains entry  , thr  is trouble  in paradise , though  all  braced   up  ....peak  tourism somewht  gets  jaded .....high health  alert  is  on  ......2009 Pandemic not very far  frm  memory but    currently  mankind  is  better   prepared nd  an energetic  assault of   prevention  is underway .....just  a   reminder   tht   how   Communicable diseases still  hold sway , bolstered  by  a bane  called  modern day  Jet Set travelling.....for  the   first  time  here  Dengue lost  its   pole   position , endemic  thru  out with  occasional  spurts ....the schools  r   closed   indefinitely nd  the  mid  term  vacation a washout  as Resorts   r  leaden  foot  accepting   locals frm  the  affected  Atolls  as  tourists....heavy  welcome showers  of   yesterday gave  way to  a  brite  nd  sunny   side of  the   Island  nd a weekend for others  in  circumspection.....!!!

 

.....the World no more Global ....

.....tht  the  immigrants dream  of fulfillment , so  very  much  a runaway  success in  the  last  two  centuries  now finally  comes   to  a  hold .....the  balloon finally  bursts.....with  far  reaching consequences .....for the seeker  of  greener  pasture, its a hold ....&  as days evolve with  ever  changing  Global  scenario.....it looks  like  a  permanent hold ......Gone  will be   the  days   whn people  used  to  make  a  bee  line  for   emigration   for  better   opportunities,  now  it  being  mired  with  altered status & definitely the  bubble  is  a bust now....as every  Country  goes  thru  evolution ....the  greener  pasture constricts  &  a  shimmering mirage now.....the  Adventurous  Expat  is  a  strong  soul  but  reality  of adopted land  stares grimly .....21st  Century  is different.....thr  r  Humanitarian  Crisis & safety  nd  security  not  guaranteed ......'' Go back  to  your Land '' will  be  the refrain  which  will  gain  strength  to  strength .....tht  the  full  cycle  of  change  wud   occur  so  quickly  &  the  World  wud  Constrict with tight  borders ....thts why  History  of  Evolution  is a never  ending  process....Changes r  a  must ....Times  r  ever  changing  &  adaptabilty  to  such  situations  shud  be   the  Order  of  the  Day....!!!
