...Winter of the Northern Plain....

.....Winter is  the  perfect  time  to  visit  Historical  Monuments  ,  Art  galleries , Museums ....basking  in  the  sun ....Lucky  the  D  day  of  India arrival  is  in  hand  ....15th we  say  gudbye to  sunny  Maldives  into  the  Northern  plains  of  India with  chill in  the  air  .....why Indians r  diverse  &  colorful  ...the  Five  seasons of  Spring  ,  Summer  , Rainy, Autumn , winter r  clear  cut  in the  subcontinent hvin  a  bearing  on  its  people  .....this  is  abundance I  must  say  ....abundance  to  diversify .....everything  is  Multilayered as  U traverse India .....here in  the  Isles , a  brief  dry  season of Jan  to  March &  Rainy  all  round   thereafter , r  the seasons....needless  to say  we  miss  the  Winters  immensely  nd  look  forward  to  it  whn  we reach India ....visiting  the  Rashtrapati  Bhavan , Mughal  gardens  , Qutub  Complex  , Old fort  , nd  Chandni chowk draped  in  woollens is  high  in agenda...CR  park  for  the savouries ....street  fud  @ CP & Palika not  too  far  behind...."Purani  Dehli"  is  the  place whr  Arnav & Doel  will subject  themselves  for their brush  with  the  teeming  crowd  , eateries  nd  History  of  course  .....I  hv promised  thm  a  Hop  on  Hop  off  travel  of  Delhi  tourism  a-la-Kualalumpur  which we immensely  enjoyed ....this  time  Cousins  will  be  roped  in for  accelerated  fun  .....!!!!

...Chalta Hai....

....tru we  r  more  concerned  about  "Padmawati" thn  the Smog  hitting  the NCR Delhi .....Health  , Environment , Education : these  Indian deptts  r  always  a casualty ....its  our "Chalta hai"  attitude....nd  shying  away frm  practicalities  nd  responsibilities  ....thruout  the  yr  the  Indian  mainland  will  witness  elections  to  various  legislatures , distracting  frm  the  prime agenda  of development  ....as  the  people  too  r  involved in  impractical rhetorics ....thr  is  no  rationality in  holding  Elections  thru  out  the  yr  at  some  place  or  the  other ....the  SMOG  takes  a  backburner  position....Children  & the Elderly brutally affected ....Study  indicate  tht  the Pollutants hv a v  long  term ill effects  on  these  two  healths  at  the  ends  of  a  spectrum....the  4th estate a  powerful tool wastes precious  time  & energy in its  efforts to  uphold  Democracy.....rather a 4th  estate  highlighted   awareness  campaign  ,  Private-Govt partnership,  shud  hv picked  up  the cudgels  to  fight  the  emergent urgent health  related  menace  in  the  Capital...on  the Contrary  the continuation  of a Cricket  Test  match in the  National  capital  with discomforting sights  of  players  falling  ill due  to  pollution  is  hard  to  comprehend  ....this  "Chalta Hai" attitude  has done  us  in ....the sooner  we upstage  this  the  better....!!

.....The last Lap.....

....The 10,000m  is finally into  the  last  lap as we  hit  December  amidst  Rain .....the  1st Jan arrival  frm India directly  frm Del to  Male' was  the first  ever direct trip  to  the  Island  frm Delhi....alas , tht's discontinued citing operational  issues  by  the Pvt. Local carrier....hence  the  hop step & Jump Flts  either  @ Colombo  /Chennai/Bangalore for Delhi will operate.....breathless  , though , as  the race  is  coming  to  an end....fastest ; as every  yr  seems  so.....thr  is  no  slowdown  in as  much as  I  try  ....the  laid  back  yesteryrs of studentship a  far  cry  now  .....as  we  r  Global &  the  World  in  our  pocket ..thr can't  be any  laying  back  ....agendas  &  more agendas  ,  deadlines  & commitments r  the  highlight  of every  Indian  trip...as  the  annual affair of  homecoming is  a matter  of  reconnect  .....The  Taste  of India  ....The Sights  of  India.....The Confluence  Time of our  Existence  with  the  Motherland !!!!....the  Butterflies  r  back  again...!!!!  

.....holidays nd cyclone.....

.....the unprecedented  depression  over  Maldives leads  to  Cyclone  like conditions...the  Friday  holiday  a  washout....the late evening  clinic  came   to  a close, amidst  rain past  10 pm....only  to  find  few of  thm  still  waiting  for  their  Inv. to  be  done....thr  was  an air  of  despair  as they  felt  they wudn't see  me  until  Sat....as  Fri day is  holiday....a brief  chat  nd  reassurance  nd  the  atmosphere  was  more  easy,  for  me  to make  a move,  hitting  the  street nd  hurtling  down  for  home like    a  dart.....accosted by  a few enroute who pleasantly  turned  out  to  be  acquaintances  whose  limited  demand  was  my  number.....Thursdays r  tense  wrkin  days  as  the  Friday  shut down will  render  me  inaccessible to  many.....deserted  Male' streets  at  night  is  not  a  pleasurable  experience  as  the  goalhis  : narrow  alleys  look eerie....the  heavy  downpour nd  a  sigh of  relief  on  the  home  stretch .....!!!
