.....Straight frm the Isles....

.......finlly  it settled  with  sporadic  outbreaks  ....its  brk time  now  as the Holy mnth is  here...thr  was  a  mad rush in the  streets & stores  ,  tru  to the Island Character  of  amassing  goods lest  thr  is  a  shortfall in the holy  mnth....the  new  Presidency &  the New  Parliament ....People r  by & large happy  & some amount  of  Conservatism is  thr  on  Govt.  fund  utilisation .....Wht   will u  call tht  ?.....ahh...Austerity thts the  European  word of tackling  recession ....Gud  for any  developing Nation .....as  Ramadaan  will progress...thr will  be decline in routine Pt. clientele frm the Islands....thr  will be some  breathing space as  Hospital  hrs  r  truncated....as  the 5th  phase  of  India Polls  r underway  ,  wht a   mature  nation india has  turned   out to be ....smooth  Elections to world's  Largest democracy   , notwithstanding  a  huge  onslaught  by  Natural disaster  of a  recently  concluded Cyclone  ...no  wonder   the  UN  is impressed as  statements  suggest frm the  World  body  of India's  superb  handling of  the  Calamity ....With the  passage  of  time with  India  in the  lead ,  the  region  will be  developing in a  fast  pace strong South Asia  region ....

....Reminded  of  the General Elections  in India of the Seventies until  Nineties ,  Post Independence, wherein  it  was a day  long affair  & quite  turbulent  in  that ...Post  T N Seshan  as  CEC a altogether  difft  approach was  adopted  to avoid clashes ,  in  tht  ,  the Current  election  is  a  7  phase  one , an  unprecedented  1 , 1/2  mnth  in  a  trying Indian summer .  Tru  clashes  are dramatically  less &  the world's largest Democracy will  see  smooth  change in guard. The EVM s hv replaced the ballot paper ...all  very  smooth ....but  the spirit of the  Electioneering  now  truncated  phase  wise  is  missing ...  probably  this  is  wht  is  modern  times  & mature  electorate  is all  abt  ...God Bless    the nation ......

.....the  departing  Gift plaque   was  as  sudden  , as  my  friend's announcement  of  imminent   departure  frm  here  to   Yangon....the quaint silver plaque of  the  Inlay  Lake of  Myanmar facing  the   massive  sea   here @my  6th  flr  Sea  View abode gently  reminds  of  frnds  hitherto  around  , now  far....thr  has  been  a  repeated  exodus  of  frnds  & acquaintances in  the  last  14  yrs ....the  new  order  changing  the  older order ...the  Expats  I mean....with  whom  we  share  lot  in  common ....nonetheless , my local frnds of  these fabulous Isles, with  its , pristine  white sands & the Deep  Blu , with   an abandon  unparalleled , omnipresent , shoulder  to  shoulder.....with  a landmass shrunk as compared  to  the  sea.....more  sea  thn  Land  ,  the  Archipelago is  an  unique  example  of  survival  of  the  fittest....its  younger  generation people  smart  nd  adaptable,  ready  to embrace  the  world....the  older open  to  newer  ideas....the  Silver inlaid  plaque  of  a  boat  &  Fisherman  of  distant  Myanmar,  will  continue  to  cherish our  associations ...of  frnds  , fmlys  , in goodness  nd  in sickness...in festivities  nd  holidays...in acute  shortage  of  time  &  in  business....A   token  of  a  Parting  gift ,  a  journey  reminder .....!!!!

Holi....The Riot of Color.....

Hardik Shubhkamnaye.....Dol Purnimar suvechcha. ..The color is everywhere. ....in day to day Life....its the pair of eyes which has to behold ....thr can be nothing more imp thn positivity in Life....The Colors help us....in every aspect .....in happiness nd sickness....tht we got a Life.....tht we thoroughly enjoyed being humans....The riot of colors must prevail in ur mind .....as our genes nd generations r tempered by such festivity as Holi nd Diwali....customised we r already ....to exude bonhomie, camaraderie, positivity.....Wishing all of U Happy Holi.....

....An Island a Civilization : 2......"...A drop in the Indian Ocean..."

....the  situation on the  work  front  is   grim.....as  it  is  without respite  for  the   hapless blu collared....Jan 12th to 14th Mar nothing much  has  changed  on  the  disease  frnt  as  acute  cases  unprecedented  in  recent  times  continue to  pour in...hands  r full  nd  all agendas   r  backseated  now  , other than  service providing....Good  Lord  gives  us the strength ,day  in  & day  out  the  damage  control  is  on ....the weather is dry  & warm , sporadic  short shower spells ,suitable  for  the  disease process  ,more acute in nature....the  midterm vacation  gets over  for the children in a couple of days & despite  best  intentions  cudn't  make  it  to any Island for  a  short  trip....the  reading  & writing  so  close  to  heart  is  bearing  the brunt  as afternoon arrivals r  late  frm  the  clinic , a  quick lunch  nd  nap  so  very  necessary  to  fire  up  ur cylinders  for  the even  brisk Eve  OPD, tokens  being distributed frm  6pm at the  clinic reception...the  serpentine  q breaths a sigh of relief  as  I laboriously wade  thru  the  clinic outdoors which is  choc a bloc with  all  other  consultants pitching  in ....a  sense of  fulfillment engulfs as I am away frm  my  native land  for this purpose only...a  service rendered ....a  drop  in the Indian Ocean....however miniscule....but  necessary....!!!!   

...an Island ... a Civilisation ....

....it   has  been  a while   after  the  400th  posting  ....as   if    in  hibernation  after  a   mammoth innings of regularly  writing painstakingly  .....mammoth  in a  sense  the  time  needed to  extract  frm  an  exacting schedule  of  service providing of a  nature so  intense  & extreme at  this time  of  the  yr, whn  the disease  process  hv raised up  their  ante across  the  Capital Island & Atolls.....Left  nd Right ,  with  little  elbow space  &  leg room the  stream  of  the  sick nd un cared continue.....needless to  say  ,  all priority , takes  a   back seat.....proud  of the  team  here , supporting  thick  nd thin  .....the  City  wearing a fresh lease  of life  with  the  Greater  Male'  fully  operational  with  the  populace  intermingling  amongst  the   islands as easy accessibility....personally   the  resumption  of  late   shopping hrs   hv  added  a  new   momentum  to  the   sprightly   walk  back   home  , as the streets r  brite  nd   last   minute  shoppers  making  the rounds ....!!!

...The 400th...

...Posting  a 400th  is a matter of  great satisfaction ....though it  took  a  trifle  late  to  post  the  same....it  is  like  posting  a triple ton in  Cricket, saving  the innings  ,  & thereafter building  patiently  afresh  an  innings  to  post a formidable  target , for  a possible victory frm  the  jaws  of defeat.....hvin followed  such  classical  innings  of  the  doyens  of Indian  cricket  nd  abroad,  deriving  immense  pleasure frm   the  results....those classical  matches of  Test   cricket had  lot  to  impart  to  character  bldg. as  u  follow  nd  so do  u  emulate  in  real  life :  the  fighting  human  spirit...!!!...over  the  yrs  ,  though , as  we    evolve , the bar   is  being  raised   constantly  & hurried  is   the  path   of   progress,  as  if   thr   is  no   tomorrow.....the  hurried   nature   of  our   progress, though  welcome  , has  its   own  cataclysmic toll & fall....the virtue  of patience & perseverance  is   fast  disappearing ....the   younger  generation....go  getters  &  restless....thr is  a  tangible shift  in  generation gap & older  generation is  in  a  torrid race to  bridge  the  chasm....time  tested old  age  need  to  be honored ,  taken  care  off ,  nd  not  subjected   to  a  race for   bitter  survival....I take  this opportunity    to thank  all  of   you   for  lending  your   support  & ears.....!!!....God  Bless....God   be   with.....!!!
